Look at steeper sites with your eyes open
I spoke to someone recently who had to sell her new home as the seventy thousand dollars to retain the section was twice what her builder had indicated at the outset.
Be aware that steep sites can initially look like a bargain but are likely to have additional costs involved such as storm water management, engineering and retaining costs which amount quickly and there are always additional costs with house foundations.
That said steep sites are often the ones I buy!
Because they usually offer more views, more privacy, less shading and opportunities for a more unique design working with the slope. Our expert earthworks team has all the machinery and experience necessary to move a mountain with ease, shaping the whole site to leave your section usable. Too many building companies bulldoze a flat pad for their job leaving the owner little access around the back to retain an unusable slope.
