Walls of 136mm thick 30MPA concrete reinforced at 600mm centres vertically and horizontally with D12 steel bars plus steel studs at 140mm centres. Interior walls concrete without the insulation or normal 90×45 timbers. Reinforced concrete structures rare in many locations worldwide are often the only ones remaining after server natural disasters. Earthquake resistance is considerable and specific to each design and location should you wish for more.

Warmth

Having the huge mass of concrete on the warm side of the wall is the secret to a cool summer home and retaining winter warmth, boosted by substantial ceiling insulation and double glazing careful design and orientation can mean no artificial heating is required at all.

Durability

Other then aesthetic maintenance of plaster and paint coatings your concrete home will serve many generations. The concrete is behind four water resistant layers, is water proof itself and the steel galvanised or embedded. The 50 year New Zealand building code structural durability requirement is easily and confidently exceeded.

Disadvantages

Changes and alterations are difficult and expensive. The completed structure is heavy but still well within most soil bearing capacities and like any timber building, subject to testing ground bearing capacity and foundation design.

2. Architectural Draughting carried out by a designer authorized by Home Builders BOP Ltd.
3. A deposit dependant on complexity of floor plan and concept elevations payable before drawings undertaken, the balance is payable when plans are ready to lodge with consent authority.
4. Home Builders BOP Ltd will repay the deposit upon signing a Master Builders Federation Contract with Home Builders BOP Ltd.  The balance to a maximum of $4,000 will be deducted from the final contract payment.
5. Design & engineering costs in excess of the free $4,000 will be agreed by negotiation.

AFS™ Wall panel before concrete fill

AFS™ LOGICWALL is a permanent formwork structural concrete walling system for external and internal walls. It consists of shop-drawn light-weight panels created by bonding hard-wearing, reinforced fibre cement sheets to galvanized steel stud frames. The panels are hand erected on site then braced, reinforced and services are placed in the walls. They are then core-filled with concrete and finished with joint setting, skim coat and/or painting systems directly onto the fibre cement sheeting.

This system has been widely used in Australia, UK, Canada, India and USA primarily for multi storey residential, commercial and retaining projects.
