Hi I’m Stuart Wood the managing director of Home Builders BOP Ltd.
With the help of a small team of qualified builders and my wife Pauline who is a qualified accountant, we’ve been building homes in the Bay of Plenty for over twenty years, regularly receiving awards for a variety of new homes and renovations. I personally work with you from appraising your site and project manage every building job we undertake.

Our focus remains on unique design and build using a variety of architectural designers, contract management or construction your own plans and seamless quality renovations.
Our team has been primarily involved with the design and construction of residential homes from basic first homes to high-end architectural masterpieces and major renovations by designers from around N Z and indeed the world. Significant light commercial and landscape construction skills are also held by our long-term staff.

A lifetime of building knowledge just makes me more aware of what I don’t know. Establishing relationships with reputable local suppliers and sub trades ensures our name for quality remains and you get the best this city has to offer.
We bring service and value as a smaller operation where communication is direct with the business owner and overheads minimized.
Qualifications and background
A Registered Master Builder
Served an 8000 hour apprenticeship
Passed trade certificate exams
Passed advanced trade certificate exams
These skills were followed by several years working around the world mainly in UK and Europe with several visits to Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and North Africa. Having an appreciation of different architecture, materials, history and construction methods gained by such travel is drawn on regularly.

Invited to join Tauranga Master Builders Association in 1992 serving five years on the executive then again in 2008.
Pauline’s management accountancy experience ensures our competitiveness while complying with many statutes.
Awards
NZ Master Builders Federation National House of the Year Awards has been running over twenty years and is recognized as the premium builders competition in NZ, recognizing the countries top builders in new homes of varying price ranges and alterations.
We have been successful with many Bay of Plenty and National awards from lower priced to top end homes and some well built clever alterations from under $100k to the better part of a million spent on a total renovation.
Our category winning and National Reserve award-winning entry in 2009 was designed by our client’s brother’s practice in Seattle USA with working drawings produced locally. A great example of good communication and teamwork.
